Cubelet User Manual
Welcome to Your Cubelet
Made by Nico Brooks
Revised August 2025
This guide is intended to help you discover all the features of your Cubelet. Your Cubelet is a complex little device packed with a unique personality, various modes, and customization options.
How it "Thinks" and "Feels"
At its heart, your Cubelet has a digital personality that experiences a range of emotions. This isn't random; it's based on how you interact with it.
- Trust: Grows when you interact gently and consistently.
- Loneliness: Builds up when you leave it alone or don't interact for long periods of time while powered on.
- Energy: Goes down over time and is refilled with playful pokes (Right Button).
- Affection: Needs to be maintained with gentle pats (Left Button).
Every 15 seconds, your Cubelet checks these feelings to decide on its mood. Its face and LED color will change to show you how it feels.
LED Indicators
- Happy - Yellow
- Playful - Pink
- Curious - Cyan
- Affectionate - Light Red
- Sad - Blue
- Anxious - Orange

Things Your Cubelet Does on Its Own
To feel more alive, it will occasionally blink, sigh, subtly shift its face on the screen, and even show you a message about its feelings without you doing anything. If it's feeling playful or bored, it might even ask you to play a game.

Power and Sleep
- Battery Meter: The four dots in the bottom-right corner show the battery level. (Cubelet is still being developed. Glitches in the battery meter are a known issue.)
- Charging: When plugged in, the next dot in the meter will blink to show it is charging. (Cubelet may abruptly reboot when plugged in or unplugged. This is due to hardware constraints and is normal behavior.)
- Sleep Mode: To save battery, your Cubelet will take a nap if you leave it alone. The screen will show a gently pulsing circle. While sleeping, it might even show you what it is dreaming about. Press any button to wake it up.
- Saving: Its personality and all your settings are saved automatically, even if the battery runs out.
